The Lamp and the Leader
The Lamp and the Leader
The rain drummed softly on the old church roof. Inside, Kofi sat alone, staring at the flickering lamp on the altar.
Kofi: (whispers) “God… they chose me to lead. But what if I’m not enough?”
A low thunder rumbled, and the lamp’s flame trembled ,but did not go out.
Voice (soft, calm): “A leader’s strength isn’t in knowing all things… but in knowing Me.”
Kofi: “Then why do I feel lost?”
Voice: “Because you’ve been trying to lead by sight. Faith leads through storms, not around them.”
Kofi bowed his head, tears mixing with the sound of rain.
Kofi: “So… You’ll walk with me?”
Voice: “Always. You hold the staff, but I light the path.”
The lamp steadied — bright, warm, alive. And in that glow, Kofi rose, no longer trembling, but trusting.
