THE SILENT CRY
We smile for the world, but cry alone
Masking pain with "we're fine", but our eyes tell the truth
Outwardly perfect, inwardly unraveling, thread by thread
The space between us grows, like an ocean unseen
We whisper "I love you", but scream "I'm lost"
Silence is our language, words we can't express
In the mirror, shadows of what we used to be
A love that's fading, like autumn leaves, slowly free
We hold on tight, but it's slipping away
Memories of us, like whispers in the grey
We chase the past, but it's gone with the night
Leaving us with shadows, and a flickering light
We dance around the truth, in a fragile disguise
Afraid to break, but dying in the lies
The vows we made, now empty echoes in time
Our hearts, two islands, lost, in a silent crime
We search for anchors, in a sea of doubt
Clipping sails, but the storm rages on, without
Forgotten touches, like autumn leaves, withered and cold
Love's warmth fading, like embers, growing old
We hide behind screens, in the glow of night
Hoping distance heals, but the pain's a constant fight
The ghosts of us, they linger, in every space
Haunting what's left, of our fading pace.
